Why petrol or diesel for transport ?

I am partly happy when Ratan Tata released Nano into the market that is far cheap than any other brand in the market and many middle class people can afford it.

But i am unhappy that it still uses diesel for transport...and its difficult for a middle class person if diesel rates are hiked.

With increasing petrol and diesel prices in the global market, it has an influence on the Indian market too, like hike in travel charges, rise in commodity prices, etc. And the petrol and diesel prices will be ever increasing, and it is unlikely that they will come down in the future.

Now, why do we have to depend on the petrol and diesel for our daily transport? And as everyone knows the fact that they does not exist for a long time (we may not see them after 5 or 10 years from now), why cant the automobile legends in India like Tata and Maruti Suzuki manufacture the vehicles that travel by natural gas / battery / solar energy / water?

This way, we dont need to worry about the hike in prices and it is environment friendly too ......

And of course petrol / diesel cause a lot of air pollution and its already too late and we dont want to deteriorate the atmosphere anymore. Our Ozone layer is in trouble and our mother earth is suffering from global warming. We are not able to hear the cry of our mother Earth...

Its my open request to Ratan Tata and other automobile experts in our country to produce a vehicle, that does not depend on either petrol or diesel or kerosine for transport. If you start now, it can be successful after few years. Because after few years, you have nothing to do with petrol or diesel, as there will be high scarcity of them, or who knows, they may get extinct forever.

Note that profits alone in a business are not important. What ultimately matters for any business is its advantage to the mankind. Hope automobile manufacturers understand this. If we dont depend on petrol or diesel or kerosine for transport, then we can save our Earth from pollution and control its temperature. Also, people in our country will be saved from hike in prices as this measure will also bring down the prices of other goods.

And people also need to realise. They have to use the public transport more. Having more than 1 or 2 personal vehicles for a family is not encouraged.

Hope such a day comes in Indian history. It has to come. It is not only my desire, but the desire of many hopeful people in our country, who want to see green India.
