Why we need Telangana ? (The facts)

చూడు తెలంగాణా చుక్క నీళ్ళు లేని దానా
నా గోడు తెలంగాణా బ్రతుకు పాడైన వీణ

Why the people of Telangana need a new state ?
What is the necessity of a new state ?
And what factors led to the strong protests from the Telangana people for a new state ?

Well, there are many reasons why the people demand a separate state. They were downtrodden for decades by the corrupt politicians of Andhra pradesh. No politician seriously considered the development of this region under any government.

The people in this region were suppressed for ages.
They were not given priority in jobs, resources and establishment.

The Telangana region is severely lacking in development, when compared with Andhra and Rayalaseema regions. There are plenty of water resources available in Telangana, but no government developed this region.

The people of Telangana region have now realised the need for a separate state, as a separate state for them can make the development in their personal lives. They primarily demand jobs and authority in their region and that is best possible with the grant of a new state. Many of us think that they are not able to coexist with the people from Andhra here, but that is not true. Telangana people are very co-operative and friendly than Andhra people. They are just not able to digest the fact that our society is dominated by Andhra people and politicians. They are not given equal opportunities with the Andhra people.

Look at any of the streets or the local buses of Telangana. You can find many dull and depressed faces of youth. Look into their eyes. They are lacking happiness. They look depressed. How can their faces glow? They are jobless, so hopeless and also not getting married. Without jobs, the youth are turning into thieves for the sake of money. Many of them are suffering from Inferiority complex. This is not good for the economy and security of India in the long run. A majority of the government jobs are shared among the Andhra and Rayalaseema people and a lot of partiality is shown towards the Telangana people in the government sector. And a very less percent of them work in the IT sector, hardly 5%. (Ofcourse, the talent also plays a major role in getting a job).

The Telangana people are not devoid of cultural activities, but they are not encouraged by the government. They do not have a recognised dance like kuchipudi for Andhra people, and their language and slang are quiet different from the andhra people, but it is not recognised as a separate language.

The movies released in Andhra do not contain Telangana people in major roles. There is no movie where we can find an actor, actress, music director, lyricist and the director, all from Telangana region. But we can easily find a villain from Telangana region in movies. It does not mean that Telangana people are not talented, but they are not given opportunities and not encouraged. They remain backwards in all fields of cinema industry. All the top heroes in AP today including Chiranjeevi, Balakrishna, Nagarjuna, Venkatesh and Mahesh Babu are from Andhra. Can you find any top star from Telangana? The media in AP is completely dominated by Andhra people. Look at any telugu news channel... you cant find any anchor from Telangana!
If you see any reality show (be it a singing competition or a dance show) in a telugu channel, you must have noticed that most of the child participants are from Andhra. Where are Telangana children? Dont they know music or dance? Cant they sing? Then, why are they not participating? Look at the daily serials on telugu channels. Almost 95% of them portray the stories of families belonging to Andhra region. Ofcourse the Telangana people does not watch the tv serials as much as Andhra people. But it does not mean that they dont have any sentiments, right?

Education is another factor that needs to be spread among the people in this region. Especially the rural people and women are lacking in education (even Sexual education, Yoga and Cooking). Most people are educated only till their school age (in telugu medium) and they are not aware of the modern day education and cant speak english well. Look at the EAMCET and Medical ranks every year and we find almost everyone in the top 10 ranks from the Andhra region . The fact is that the Telangana people are severely lacking in communication skills (soft skills) and english, and so they are not able to compete with Andhra people in the jobs. In Government or IT jobs, they are easily overtaken by Andhra people. The youth of Telangana need to improve a lot in personality development, as they are suffering from Inferiority Complex. Most of them are restricted to a small private business like a shopkeeper or a road side fruit seller, after their education. What a pity! Without a good job and salary, the Telangana people (esp. youth) are depressed about their future.

Hence there is a huge need for the separate state of Telangana. It is not just about a demand for a new area for its people, but a demand for new recognition and development for its people.
Hope the UPA government takes a positive decision towards Telangana in the coming days.

About Anna Hazare

10 things to know about Anna Hazare 'n Jan Lok Pal Bill.. !

1. Who is Anna Hazare?
An ex-army man. Fought 1965 Indo-Pak War

2. What's so special about him?
He built a village Ralegaon Siddhi in Ahamad Nagar district, Maharashtra

3. So what?
This village is a self-sustained model village. Energy is produced in the village itself from solar power, biofuel and wind mills.
In 1975, it used to be a poverty clad village. Now it is one of the richest village in India. It has become a model for self-sustained, eco-friendly & harmonic village.

4. Ok,...?
This guy, Anna Hazare was awarded Padma Bhushan and is a known figure for his social activities.

5. Really, what is he fighting for?
He is supporting a cause, the amendment of a law to curb corruption in India.

6. How that can be possible?
He is advocating for a Bil, The Jan Lokpal Bill (The Citizen Ombudsman Bill), that will form an autonomous authority who will make politicians (ministers), beurocrats (IAS/IPS) accountable for their deeds.

8. It's an entirely new thing right..?
In 1972, the bill was proposed by then Law minister Mr. Shanti Bhushan. Since then it has been neglected by the politicians and some are trying to change the bill to suit thier theft (corruption).

7. Oh.. He is going on a hunger strike for that whole thing of passing a Bill ! How can that be possible in such a short span of time?
The first thing he is asking for is: the government should come forward and announce that the bill is going to be passed.
Next, they make a joint committee to DRAFT the JAN LOKPAL BILL. 50% goverment participation and 50% public participation. Because you cant trust the government entirely for making such a bill which does not suit them.

8. Fine, What will happen when this bill is passed?
A LokPal will be appointed at the centre. He will have an autonomous charge, say like the Election Commission of India. In each and every state, Lokayukta will be appointed. The job is to bring all alleged party to trial in case of corruptions within 1 year. Within 2 years, the guilty will be punished. Not like, Bofors scam or Bhopal Gas Tragedy case, that has been going for last 25 years without any result.

9. Is he alone? Whoelse is there in the fight with Anna Hazare?
Baba Ramdev, Ex. IPS Kiran Bedi, Social Activist Swami Agnivesh, RTI activist Arvind Kejriwal and many more.
Prominent personalities like Aamir Khan is supporting his cause.

10. Ok, got it. What can I do?
At least we can spread the message. How?
Putting status message, links, video, changing profile pics.
At least we can support Anna Hazare and the cause for uprooting corruption from India.
At least we can hope that his Hunger Strike does not go in vain.
At least we can pray for his good health.

List of Black Money Holders from Wiki Leaks

See the list of our corrupt people... if our laws cannot punish these people in any way, let them go to HELL. God will see them !

Why we need JAN Lokpal ?

See how Lokpal Bill can curb the politicians....

Existing System
System Proposed by civil society
No politician or senior officer ever goes to jail despite huge evidence because Anti Corruption Branch (ACB) and CBI directly come under the government. Before starting investigation or initiating prosecution in any case, they have to take permission from the same bosses, against whom the case has to be investigated.
Lokpal at centre and Lokayukta at state level will be independent bodies. ACB and CBI will be merged into these bodies. They will have power to initiate investigations and prosecution against any officer or politician without needing anyoneⳠpermission. Investigation should be completed within 1 year and trial to get over in next 1 year. Within two years, the corrupt should go to jail.
No corrupt officer is dismissed from the job because Central Vigilance Commission, which is supposed to dismiss corrupt officers, is only an advisory body. Whenever it advises government to dismiss any senior corrupt officer, its advice is never implemented.
Lokpal and Lokayukta will have complete powers to order dismissal of a corrupt officer. CVC and all departmental vigilance will be merged into Lokpal and state vigilance will be merged into Lokayukta.
No action is taken against corrupt judges because permission is required from the Chief Justice of India to even register an FIR against corrupt judges.
Lokpal & Lokayukta shall have powers to investigate and prosecute any judge without needing anyoneⳠpermission.
Nowhere to go - People expose corruption but no action is taken on their complaints.
Lokpal & Lokayukta will have to enquire into and hear every complaint.
There is so much corruption within CBI and vigilance departments. Their functioning is so secret that it encourages corruption within these agencies.
All investigations in Lokpal & Lokayukta shall be transparent. After completion of investigation, all case records shall be open to public. Complaint against any staff of Lokpal & Lokayukta shall be enquired and punishment announced within two months.
Weak and corrupt people are appointed as heads of anti-corruption agencies.
Politicians will have absolutely no say in selections of Chairperson and members of Lokpal & Lokayukta. Selections will take place through a transparent and public participatory process.
Citizens face harassment in government offices. Sometimes they are forced to pay bribes. One can only complaint to senior officers. No action is taken on complaints because senior officers also get their cut.
Lokpal & Lokayukta will get public grievances resolved in time bound manner, impose a penalty of Rs 250 per day of delay to be deducted from the salary of guilty officer and award that amount as compensation to the aggrieved citizen.
Nothing in law to recover ill gotten wealth. A corrupt person can come out of jail and enjoy that money.
Loss caused to the government due to corruption will be recovered from all accused.
Small punishment for corruption- Punishment for corruption is minimum 6 months and maximum 7 years.
Enhanced punishment - The punishment would be minimum 5 years and maximum of life imprisonment.

It is the peak time to support Anna Hazare in his protest against corruption, to save our future generations of INDIA.
